If you can spot the 3 typo’s in this headline; you might be the Content writer we’re looking for
Remember in high school when the teacher would pass out tests and you’d hear a collective groan when she announced it was mainly essay questions? While the others complained, you secretly smirked because you knew that was playing to your strengths. That’s the kind of person we’re looking for.
Houck Agency is a boutique PR and content marketing firm in Youngstown. Due to recent growth we want to add a Content Marketing Writer to our staff. We need someone who’s curious, open-minded, a probing interviewer, a creative thinker. Someone who has a command of the English language but isn’t afraid to break the rules sometimes for fun. Someone who can compel readers to click on headlines and share what they read with their friends.
Newsroom/journalism skills might translate well into this position. Corporate communications or agency exposure, as well as knowing enough to be dangerous with Hootsuite, SEO, Hubspot and AP Style would catch our attention, as well. If you’re a freelancer or a more senior-level professional with a portable book of business we’ll talk to you, as well.
In this role you’ll write everything from thousand-word bylined articles for trade magazines to short- and long-form blogs, Facebook posts, interactive quizzes and surveys, eblasts, website copy, radio ads, marketing literature, and more. You’ll also conceive ideas and sell them to clients about what we’re going to produce content about. You might also organize and plan the distribution of content on client social media channels.
It takes a unique individual to thrive in (or even like) this type of role. Our clients tend to play in the B2B, healthcare and professional services spaces, so if you can’t get excited writing about construction, surgical procedures and case law changes then you might want to keep your day job.
