Youngstown-based marketing and public relations firm The Houck Agency added the Conservancy for Cuyahoga Valley National Park to its client roster. The Houck Agency president Jim Houck said his firm will plan, coordinate and promote several events planned throughout the spring, summer and fall, all in celebration of the Centennial anniversary of the National Park Service.

“We’re fortunate to have the only national park in Ohio within an hour’s drive of the Mahoning Valley, and among our objectives with this Centennial marketing campaign is to attract more visitors to connect – or reconnect – with this national treasure from throughout Northeast Ohio,” Houck said.

“Many of us in Youngstown and Warren relate to the Cuyahoga Valley National Park through the iconic train and scenic railroad, the 81 miles of Towpath bike trails, or maybe through panoramic views out the car window when passing by on the turnpike. Having this opportunity to work closely with the park, I can assure you there’s so much to enjoy during a day trip or even an overnight stay right on park property.”

Among the Centennial events planned are the BioBlitz biodiversity festival May 20-21, a Cleveland Orchestra special concert at Blossom on July 17, the American Solar Challenge on July 29-30, Party in the National Park on Aug. 20-21 and an Akron Symphony Orchestra concert on Nov. 4.

The Houck Agency is located in the Ohio One building downtown. It plans and executes marketing and PR programs primarily for business-to-business, healthcare and professional services companies in Youngstown, Akron and Cleveland.
